try your local store and see if they have any cheaper.0 -
I got mine through my local FREECYCLE.
Just google Freecycle and look around within it for the local one to you.
There are plenty of local groups, so unless you live somewhere remote the chances are your area will have one.
Just a quick aside, normally should you be lucky enough to be offered one, then the majority of the people passing items on expect you to collect the item (so it helps if you have a car or are near to a bus route).Sometimes I wonder...
"why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
...and then it hits me

£12.69 if you can get to Argos for the 3.5l Cook WorksThe only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

If you don't mind paying more for a lot more functions (useful if you are limited for space), I have this and it's in daily use

I've got the Morphy Richards 3.5l slow cooker and it's great (I've also got their 6.5l version and that's great too!). Make sure it has a removable bowl
Available from many places... Argos & Amazon are both just under £20
There is also loads of information about Slow Cookers (how to choose, what to cook, etc) on the Money Saving Old Style forums

I have also got a Morphy Richards slow cooker, 3.5l. I love it, wish Id had one years ago. This size is fine for two- four people. There are just two of us so I usually cook my casseroles etc and freeze half. Brill for curries and soup too. I noticed Asda had their Smart Price one for under £12 today but its not very nice looking. If looks dont matter then it seems a good buy. Happy Cooking!

I really recommend the tescos one, however I am amazed at the price, we have had ours a couple of months (probably 3 at max) we paid £9.99 for it ... last week I sent the link to someone on here as a recomendation through msn and she purchased hers for £12.50 (this was exactly 1 week ago!) and now they are £18.76 !!!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

I have had the Morphy Richards 3.5l for a few years and have been very happy with it. I am thinking of trading up to a bigger model to cook more for freezing, although the 6.5l ones seem HUGE. I am debating whether to go for one of the models where you can use the bowl on the hob (avoids having to use an extra pan when browning meat) - has anyone tried one?0

I've not tried the bowl that you can use to brown on the hob
I use my 3.5l slow cooker for recipes where I am going to cook rice/pasta separately eg chilli, bolognaise, curry, etc and I use my 6.5l slow cooker for recipes where I am going to add potatoes such as a casserole or a hot pot.
The 6.5l is also useful for cooking joints like brisket (you can also cook a whole chicken but I've not tried that)0
