I went to the Harrogate show a couple of years back. It was fine, but I wouldn't devote two days to it as one day is ample at Harrogate. It might be a larger affair at the NEC.

We were looking at replacement windows at the the time and we noted a plethora of companies there who specialised in repairing wooden sash windows etc. Also notable was the amount of self-build, wooden framed house build companies. They would be highly popular at the time due to the prices of houses being as high as thy could possibly be. They may not be quite as popular now that prices are falling.

There were also many insulating companies in evidence.

By the way, the tickets normally come free of charge. But if you go there on the day there is a charge.

I looked at this a few days back and it was £4 per ticket from their website.

I might just go for a look.

Thanks for posting the details for the free tickets ;)

Steve_xx - thanks for that. I am going to the NEC show but I wont bother looking for nearby hotels as one day should be sufficient, from what you say.

I have just appointed an architect to draw some plans, for which I should get the first drawing any day now. With time taken to getting planning/building control, the March exhibition is good timing to get contacts for tradespeople and other companies as I will be looking to getting new kitchen, bathrooms, underfloor heating etc etc - all budget permitting!
Thanks for posting the details for the free tickets ;)

No worries, now all I need to do is try and get free parking! Apparently, its £8!!
