What is the difference between screen wipes and baby wipes?

Is there a difference between screen wipes and baby wipes?
I seem to be able to get check babywipes no bother - eg see quick grab it
But screenwipes uhuh
But is there a difference. I don't want to find that I just ruined a couple of grand worth of equipment by using babywipes for the sake of £2.99
Incidentally if anyone knows of a cheap source of screen wipes please feel free to add it - but I hasten to add this not the purpose of this listing - if it were it would be in the Iwanna

i reckon baby wipes have lanolin and moisturisers in them where as screenwipes have some sort of non smear ingredients. i wouldnt use baby wipes on a screen to be honest cause they do smear...have you tried poundland?

I saw something on a TV prog once where the woman said to use watered down fabric conditioner/softener on a dry cloth then wipe over the TV screen and computer monitor as if dusting normally. Apparently it stops dust sticking to the screen. Never tried it myself so can't say if its true or not.

Isopropyl alcohol (or even water), and a dry cloth/vileda etc. does the job. Whatever you use, usually needs a dry cloth to wipe up the smears afterwards.. Buying screen wipes is a waste of money.

I think baby wipes are designed for some part of the human anatomy, not a laptop screen!

Screen wipes as said will have Isopropyl alcohol on them and the other wipes will have moisturiser

Well this is a shock.....

I have used a Microfibre cloth, screen wipes, babywipes specialist glass cleaner
and yet the other day I used some Tesco furniture polish and a yellow duster
and that brought my screen up by far the best...

I dunno if all TFT screens would react the same but its furniture polish for me... :think:

I use proper TFT cleaner and microfibre cloth only, nothing else. Some cleaners could take away the coatings on screens (crt,TFT)

I use Brillo pads, they work fine. BTW, does anyone know where I can buy a cheap 17" TFT, they don't last long, my screen is all scuffed.
