Have you read My Struggle yet :D

I think with all the long words in there (especially in the original German), poor Dervish would definitely struggle to read it. But it seems the general concept is one that he would agree with.

    ^ ho ho ho.

Mein Kampf is a rambling tale of psychosis masqureading as politcal doctrine.

I am more in tune with the rambling tales from the Bullingdon Club.

    what a pathetically stupid comment.

If you mean Britain created a benevolent Empire and gave the world deocarcy, law, technology and English language then I might agree.

War is always a last result for us.

So the english gave all these things to the irish and just borrowed the land in return?? Oh, and they just forgot to feed the when thew were starving in their millions whilst growing to feed the english?

Its just this sort of superiority complex that SOME english people have that cause wars in the first place.

An even more sobering thought is that the Irish economy is, in many respects, in a much healthier position than the UK. They have the protection of the Euro and they have invested heavily in manufacturing and research (several years ago they overtook the UK as pharmaceutical manufacturers). The UK by contrast has focussed on ever more public sector jobs, public sector projects and government consultants.

350,000 public sector workers in a nation with a population of 3.2 million I'd argue otherwide tbh.The tax breaks that Ireland offered to companies to re-locate have gone.

The state of thier economy was far too fragile, and is not easily comparable to the UK.

    !!!!!! is all that about?

How long will they keep those low tax rates with unemployment booming

I think they will have to keep them for fear of not getting any more new business or fear of loosing the business that it has, its better to have some tax coming in than none.

If you were in Germany after the war, I'd image you'd go around feeling sorry for the wider public because they didn't know what was going on - for their dictatorship, invasions and death camps - they weren't really responsible in your eyes I'd imagine - just going with what they thought was a rightful reality of the world. "It wasn't their fault.. they didn't know any better, and society had encouraged it."

As a former member of the clueless masses (we almost bought a house last year and only realised at the last moment what a mistake it would be) I think your analogy's stretching it more than a bit. HPI is overall a bad thing for society, but not quite in the same league as being complicit with German war crimes and the Holocaust.
