Account in GBP

Okay, I have a question.
I want to have an account denominated in GBP, held in the UK (or one of the dependencies). I'd like to have debit card access to the account, as transferring money between the UK and Poland is quite painful.
Does anyone know who would let me open such an account, as I'm resident in Poland and no longer have any direct ties with the United Kingdom? I have an interest in a property in the UK and would quite like to have an account which is operated in full knowledge of the bank. Currently, I'm using my old UK current account - but it's not really desirable as they think I'm still UK resident.
Tax affairs aren't of interest, everything is declared to the Polish taxman.
Any suggestions? I'd particularly like free banking - I won't be using the account that much and don't particularly want to pay high monthly fees just for the pleasure of not being resident in the UK.
I should state that I don't really need current account functionality - my account here is suitable enough for that. It's really just for saving any income earnt in GBP so I don't have to bring it into Poland. I'll be taxed on my UK income if I access it here, so I intend to save as much as possible outside Poland and only pay tax when I bring it in - but I don't need it right now.

The books are sitting just there on the floor.
