Allied International Credit - Have they actually taken anyone to court?

Apologies for the long explanation..
A few weeks ago, I received a yellow slip from this nasty company relating to a Lloyds TSB debt I had. I want even aware Lloyds had handed it over to them, despite having an arrangement on it.
I wrote to Allied International Credit stating my intention to settle this matter as soon as possible and look at advice from the CCCS. I was also investigating why Lloyds had passed it over without my knowledge?
On Friday, I had a particularly unpleasant chap phone me up stating that he had been trying to get hold of me for ages and that he had not received the letter I had posted. What is it with these DMC's, why don't they always say they never receive any letters you send?
AIC wanted the payment in full (11K) and said the matter was about to go to court. On further discussion, I was offered a reduction on the total amount, with the option to pay my 2 installments - in 7 days! He then offered a 60% reduction if the debt is cleared withing 7 days in one installment. This chap consantly went on about how if I don't contact him back and pay by Friday of next week, court action will commence and I would be saddled with lots of extra charges ete, including £900 from them. He tried to get additional information out of me, eg employmenet matters, but I refused.
Now i may be in the fortunate position shortly, to offer to settle the debt with 60% off due to help from a family member. However, i will not be able to rase this kind of cash in 7 days - 1 month is more like it.
If I contact them on Monday saying I will pay the reduced offer, but within a month and not 7 days, are they likely to carry out this threat of court action? If they say yes, but that it will cost me more, am I within my rights to refuse and only pay this discounted amount. I would like to deal with Loyds direct and settle the matter with them. If Allied get nasty, should I go straight to Lloyds and give them my offer?
Not sure what to do on this one. Has this company actually taken anyone to court on here? What shall I do come Monday? I really don't want to deal with a company that phones you up, basically says you are a lier and treats you like a common criminal....
Some adive urgently appreciated please...

This is not the behaviour of an organisation about to take court action. This is the behaviour of a DCA who has just bought a debt for about 5p in the pound and wants to make a quick buck.
All F&F deals MUST be agreed in writing. There's a factsheet here
But frankly you don't know at the moment that AIC have any more authority to demand money from you than I do!
You could contact Lloyds and ask if they still own the debt - in that case deal with them. If it has been assigned to AIC, you want to see some proof of assignment and a copy of the CCA signed agreement that they intend to rely on in court.0 -

The only thing you need to pay them is a slap for the way they've treated you.
Have no more telephone dealings with them, request everything in writing, if they call, hang up on them, it may be easier to speak on the phone, but they'll just give you more agro, hang up each and every time they call.
They see you as gullible, don't let them play on that or allow them to take advantage of you.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Just to reiterate what others have said - do not speak to this shower of **** on the phone again. If you ignore them for long enough, they eventually resort to writing.
They are trying to threaten and bully you into paying more than you can afford - all DCA's get nasty, that's how they make their money! Most of them break the law in their practices so I suggest you read up on the debt collection guidelines so that you can spout back at them every rule that they are breaking should you speak to them again. I had a particularly vile DCA put the phone down on me when I did that!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Thanks for the reply's guys. I really want to get this debt sorted as soon as and like I said before, should have some funds available (just) to pay a chunk off. Can I force Lloyds to take back dealings with the dept, stating that they will get no money out of me if they don't do this?
Looking back, I should have just told this company where to go, but I was busy at work the time they called and a little alarmed with what they said. I've written and sent faxes to these DMC's in the past, but they all seem to ignore them, preferring instead to imply you are a liar and not deal with the situation...
Really not sure what to do come tomorrow. I have a chunk of money I could pay towards the loan straight away, but do not want to deal with this company!
Another question. Can these DMC's put things on your credit file?
Many thanks0 -
Hello everyone,
don't know if I am doing this right (i.e asking for help & advice in the correct way)- never dealt with issues like this before.
I have a card with Amex - always paid on time (for years) until November 08 when I got into difficulty due to current economic climate.
Was in communication with Amex - did everything they asked, then they tell me thay have made errors in information they have given me, have closed my account and referred it to a debt collection company - AIC.
I get a call from AIC on Monday 9th Feb - nasty, demanding money etc. At this stage I have not had anything in writing from AMex or AIC. They tell me they are going to issue a Statutory Order. They call me again yesterday (11th Feb) offering an £8500 out of court settlement. If I do not pay they will proceed with the Stat. Order. Thay ask me to get family members to lnd me the money.
Help Please!!!! I am frantic with worry. Looking at your forums it would appear that I need to request in writing a copy of the CCA agreement from them? Do I offer them an installment plan? I cannot raise the £8500, but I could pay it say over 4 months? Don't know what to do.

Read the OFT's Debt Collection Guidance
Without knowing more about your situation, it's hard to advise you. Perhaps you could post a statement of affairs, best in a new thread. There's a calulator here0 -

I just started getting texts from this company due to the fact ive missed payments to amex since november,i owe £3800 and which now i have offered to start making regular payments, they have declined this and unless i pay today they are threatening court action,i dont have an address to write to these muppets but slightly unclear as what to do next,i own my own property in which they have stated they will put a charge against it...at this stage if they did take me to court, surely if i make an offer of payment, they cant refuse.
