Unable to transfer music to MP3 player

Suddenly I have been unable to transfer music from my library to my MP3 player, it's a Sony NWE 407. The only change is I am doing it on my new PC. I had to initialize it and therefore lost all my music and had to do them all over again. I am wondering why, I have tried to use the old computer to transfer as well and it will not let me. Any ideas why, please? Thanks
