Plus, leg-room is lacking on the Emirates 777s (but much better on their Airbuses).

I am quite sure that the difference between these airlines is not work 800 pounds, or anything like that much.

If you're talking about Economy class then leg room is more on Emirates' 777s (mostly 34 inches) than on their Airbuses (mostly 32 inches). Air France is 32 inches on most of their fleet.

I agree about the difference not being worth it (my opinion anyway).

I have found that on the Emirates 777s part of your legroom is taken up by a box needed for the in-fight entertainment system. In economy, of course.

(Business on Emirates is spectacularly good, with so much legroom that you have to stand up if for any reason you want to touch the seat in front of you.)
  • I have flown on 3 occasions to Japan with KLM and cannot fault them in anyway.

People tend to be more "vocal" about poor experiences.

Yes, I used them to go to Ghana and back and they were fine. I appreciate the Dutch sense of humour that their staff displayed, but their food, wine and entertainment don't quite reach the very high standard set by Air France.

I think only window seats and the rows behind exit/bulkhead rows have the box under the seat - most seats are OK - but I agree the box is a pain in the b** if you get it.

I flew with air france last year from Rio de Janeiro To Paris and I would never use them again, the flight attendants were not helpful at all the food was horrible and the worse thing was that it was bloody freezing for the duration of the flight,on the other hand I have used KLM before for long haul flights and found them far superior to AF.

Emirates is excellent, but really not worth an extra £800.

Air France can be very good, can be reasonable, but I've never heard of it being bad. I've never heard anyone criticising the food on AF, even for the cheapest economy seats.

BA is mixed. Excellent if you can afford business class (and don't mind delays ), economy is adequate at best. I wouldn't say it's at all worth losing a day's holiday.

Given the OP's posts, I'd definitely go with Air France.

We flew AIr France-KLM and Emirates to Dubai - There really is no comparison, Emirates is the best!

Air France flight was just dismal and KLM was slightl better - they really don't know this is the 21st Century. Emirates was fantastic!

Since it's a holiday to luxurious place like Mauritius, I think it deserves to be flow in style! Go Emirates :)

I have flown with both long haul and Air France is the worst one of all airlines!!!
Emirates has good service but flying time can be long if the connecting flight is a long wait.. but for the difference of £800 I would go with air france and hope they treat u nice!!
  • I think you need to look at what does £800 mean to you?

It seems Emirates is the populour choice however you can not say Air france are not a good airline.

    From the comments made:
If you want newer planes & happier crew, and want Dubai stop then go Emirates.

If your not bothered about a 'newerplane' and would not be too bothered if your crew are very cheerfull however they would be helpfull then go Air france...

There doesnt seem to be an £800 difference in my opinion so id fly Airfrance but if you think it is woth paying more for them little extras then fly Emirates.
