Sorry if this is not the right forum to post my query however i cant find a more suitable one.
Right my granddad passed away back in september and whilst sorting his things out another relative came accross a savings book from midland back with my name on it. Since midland bank are now part of HSBC and the last dated entry on the book was in 1984 does that mean any monies in the account will be gone forever or is it worth asking about it? I have the account number etc but im unsure what to do with it.
Can anyone help?
Thank you

You should definitely ask about it.
While it is possible that the account has been closed at some point, it is amazing how many people forget about their savings accounts!0
