Unfortunately I can't watch it as I don't have independent viewing rights in our house.

You need a man shed. I'm a great believer in the fact that every man needs a shed of his own. Bit of carpet, comfy chair and a radio.... or TV these days.

Oh, they used margin calls in the stock exchange crash.

Most stock purchases were leveraged, 10% deposit, borrow 90%, buy stocks ... with the market falling the lenders wanted them to bring in cash immediately. Lenders sent out telegrams asking for it.

Every shed I have come across starts off day one as a nice new space and by the end of day two is absolutely full of stuff that might one day be required, but not right now it isn't.

Mrs Cleaver wanted to watch the Sex and The City movie that someone bought her for Christmas on DVD. I put my foot down for once and she's watching it in a bit of a mood in the bedroom on her laptop with her headphones in.

I'm enjoying watching a programme about financial doom and reading / writing on a forum about financial doom at the same time. It's a doomfest.

I wonder if the editors of the programme had the same line of thought when they included that bit?

    Interesting show though.
