Moved Threads

What's this about the peugoet thread. I posted that information so that people from Northern Ireland could advise (which they did) on the issue of the value of the car, deals, local garages etc. I don't understand why this was moved?0
-
I like the NI community thread- and I'm sure it bugs the poster when their post is moved...............
(I think we know by now that if its a general thread + we want "general" responses that it should be in the main forum... doh!
) 0 -
Maybe if an outsider was looking down the list of thread titles, they could be forgiven for wondering why some threads were on the NI board instead of a seemingly more relevant board? Maybe we need to make the titles a bit more relevant to NI?

We know that but why were they moved when they are NI related?Dave0
-
surely it makes sense to have all things related to NI in one place. I dont know about anyone else but going from forum to forum to read about things relevany to NI its very time consuming.
I know of no other forums on NI issues maybe you do? Recently many posts are not directly moneysaving but were not moved ie the car parking in Derry which i found most helpful and what about the norn ireland weight loss thread surely that is about losing lbs not saving £'s.
Why can all local issues not be in one place?0 -
Hi guys
Just so you're fully aware, the board guides are volunteers and don't read every post on all boards they're board guides on so if you think "why't this been moved but not that", then that's why. We ask them to move posts if they think you'll get more replies so more help answering your questions.
Obviously we're all different so some people will disagree with something being moved, but that's only human. If you wonder why something's been moved, anywhere on the forum, all you need to do is send a relevant board guide a very polite pm asking why it's been moved.
Also, it's not the end of the world if something has been moved. Threads can be moved again. If you make your point explaining why you disagree clearly, concisely and politely then the thread may be moved back.
Andrea

Andrea, such clear, concise and polite explanations were posted in the thread itself after it had been moved with little elaboration.
Given the nature of the thread, moving it into an area which requires further registration rather than public view, is neither helpful the current users of the website or those PMS customers who are desperately for advice on the internet and are put off by a requirement to register.
Certainly when the banking crisis was receiving its highest press coverage, MSE didn't move threads relating to it into Discussion Time as a consquence, and would feel that the PMS thread such receive the same status.0 -
Can I ask who we need to message to get the PMS thread back please? I've been following it for some time but as I access often from work I can't always log in.0

I agree with those who want all NI threads kept here, I find most of them very helpful.
arkonite-babe, also grateful for your moderating, I know that it is time-consuming.
