Are you allowed to take knitting needles in suitcase on a flight? Going to visit someone in Bavaria and they have asked me to take some for them so any advice anyone?

Thankyou :j

  • I can't see that it would be a problem.

You definitely can if they're checked in.
If they're in your hand luggage, no.
(although I do remember seeing somewhere that the bamboo one's are allowed, but it was a long time ago and I can't remember where I saw it)

I have taken plastic ones in hand luggage several times. I think the main concern would be the metal ones.
    Gone ... or have I?

You're not allowed sharp items in the cabin itself, but if they're put in the hold it's no problem. As far as I know this applies to all types of knitting needle.
