Been saving £2 coins for about 3 yrs now. As has already been said, you don't get them that often in your change so take them out! You'll never miss them. Trouble is word gets around in the local about it and people save 'em for you. Can go out with fifty quid in notes and come back with at least thirty in £2 coins. Total saved so far this year is £900!!! And it's just paid for the lounge to be decorated including new carpet.

Stevep10 - pleeeeeeeease put these back into the system... they need to go home! Plus then you could be earning 5.03% on that money in an ICICI account ;)

I got one coin today, 1st one in 4 weeks, literally. Some of your coins might then reach me here in Brighton :T

How many people on MSE must be saving £2 coins - could have a serious effect on the treasury eh, all this consumer power - they'll need to print more :D

He has decided that he will contribute his as well now.

Hi, I haven't trawled through the 194 pages, lol, so this might already have been posted, this will probably help the people who collect smaller denominations which are harder to count, but thought I'd post it here as a lot of people here also collect 'change under 20p' etc.

Quite a few Sainsburys and Asdas have change converters in their entrance foyers, so if you can't be bothered to count it all up and separate each denomination, you can just throw it all in there and you can either change it into (money) notes, or vouchers for the store or you can donate it to charity. Hope this helps someone!
