    This is a terramundi. http://www.terramundi.co.uk/mall/terramundi/topic/topic-18696-1.stm

They originate in Italy, Tuscany I think. As soon as the first coin is deposited in them, they are supposed to be filled to the top, and then broken. You should make a wish for, a happy wedding, a beautiful baby, etc (a fridge freezer, whatever you want) when the first coin is put in. I think they take about £200 in silver coins.

The onces that are sold local to me have a very pleasing shape, and many different messages on them. But you could write your own message, like the mortgage pig thread.
    Egg @ 3.9% until 1/7/06 = £1798
    MBNA @ 2.9% until 1/9/06 = £5314
    A & L @ 0.9% until 1/9/06 = £4743
    MBNA @ 0.9% until 1/9/06 = £8768

Debt free aim March 08 if not before

In a shop with hubby and he was paying for something. Saw a £2 coin in his change and nicked it! Ooops, sorry, took it for safe keeping! Now up to £6.00.

will be interesting trying to put these £2 coins into my internet bank account that only takes deposits by mail! :D

I was wondering the same thing melabarrie, and then remembered that I opened an account with Barclays when the £100 loophole was still on, and I haven't closed it - so I'll pay the money in there, then transfer it online to a savings account that pays a decent interest rate (unlike Barclays!).
