At last got 2!! Can now start so will go & alter my sig to teh grand total of £4 saved!! Have separate jar for pennies etc but the £2 has its own tin! Mine specifically for savings!!! Not sure what for (emergency if necessary!) but just having savings, for the first time ever, is a real achievement for me!!

Hello all. As per the 20p savings club (just posted on there too!) I have to say that due to a horrible "incident" at home last week, I have taken the decision not to keep any cash at home as I really can't afford to lose anything if some no mark decides to come back and help him/herself to my stuff again.

I will be banking change via the HSBC coin sorter as & when I can from now on...so sorry to leave you all but good luck!

I shall miss collecting the £2 coins, they are such lovely big coins - I love 'em!

Don't go, why not just bank the coins earlier, say, every 10.00?

Hi Looking Ahead - sorry to hear about your incident. It did make me think that keeping large amounts of cash in the house is never a good idea, as it could be stolen, but also, it could be earning interest in a good savings account. (See the affect Martin has had on me..? lol) It's gratifying to see the coins mounting up, but we can still keep a tally of the total when they've been banked.

I agree but for people in remote places like me it costs a fiver for a trip to the bank :(
