Hi all,
Just curious with this new natwest ruling what are the exact times we can claim for. News articles keep refereing to 2001-2003 period however my charges didnt start till may 2003 so could I still go from may to december 2003 or what?
thanks

not sure what month the 2003 terms came in, any way it is a moot point. The Natwest ruling on 2001 terms will probably be appealed, its only one part of the argument, that of penaltys under common law (which has been discounted for everything else now) and as it is claims are still stayed, and the same terms should, if the judges make the right decision on UTCCR, be able to be judged under fairness principles as per the UTCCR.
Only way the ruling will be extra useful is if its decided the UTCCR doesnt apply in which case, if Natwest don't appeal, Natwest customers with charges between 2001 & 2003 (which ever months the conditions changed) will be able to claim those charges under common law penalty principles.
IE. Nothing has changed and you should enter your claim for the full period you received them as soon as possible using the standard letters.LegalBeagles0
