Worried about credit rating

I went away to Egypt for xmas and informed my bank that I would be taking and using my current account visa debit card whilst away. Tried to take money out but this was rejected. Tried to pay by switch which was allowed on one accassion near the start of the holiday.
When I got back I discovered that my card had been cloned and the bank had sat back and watched over £2000 being taken from my account over a 10 day period whilst I was away. The transactions were all in Indonesia. The annoying thing is that the bank wanted to know where I was going on holiday and the exact dates I would be there so why did they authorise these transactions. Also why did they allow it to continue for 7 days after they saw a transaction in Egypt and Indonesia on the same day.
Anyway I got the money back but with no apology and was told I would need to close my current account and set up another one. This alone needed a credit check to be done and a further credit check for an overdraft facility. The banks switching team were to "take all the hassle out of switching" so I left it with them. 2 weeks later I got a call from my bank at 8.09am asking why my loan payment had been rejected. On the same day I found out my credit card payment had not gone through either. I thought that after several phone calls, to non interested people, I had finally got it sorted out. I did however put a complaint in to the customer relations team as I have never missed or been late with a payment in my life. I was told that this could take up to 8 weeks for them to investigate but in the meantime they would ensure my account would be revisted and checked to ensure the switch had been done correctly. They also offered a £10 gesture of goodwill!!! They were politely told where to put it.
Today I have found out that the loan repayment that was being represented has again failed along with a term assurance premium and another credit card payment. I am now so worried about this and the affect it will have on my credit rating in future. The whole thing is having a serious affect on my health as I am unable to sleep and find myself checking my account all the time.
Does anyone know if it will make a difference because it was the banks fault?

The bank is at fault so therefore you really need to follow the complaints procedure and allow them 8 weeks to respond. Keep a written record of what has bounced, and what you have been charged in charges. As it is the banks wrong doing you can request that they alter your credit file and also if you speak to any of the other companies and explain what has happened (if you make payment within 30 days your ok) and they may want proof from your bank that what you say is true and they may change your file if they have put any defaults down.0
