DDR2 400 DIMM help

Options
Hi there

Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding this memory. I have bought a new pc from Ebuyer and I want to upgrade the memory. I can find very little information about the kind of memory I need from Ebuyer- and I cant recognise it by looking - and Acer (manufacturer) tells me it needs DDR2 400 standard DIMM. But there seems to be loads of different speeds etc and I dont really understand. It is an Acer e500 6976 - a special build Acer tells me but also apparently the same as all e500's.

Also where is a cheap place to buy it from - I am looking for 1GB - and cant seem to use Crucial's memory selector - as it doesnt recognise the model number.

Help!! please !!!

Download PC Wizard and it will show exactly what you have fitted in the machine at present.

  • I can help you with part of your problem and that is regarding where to get this type of memory at a decent price. I found 3 sites which are very competitive, the first one being https://www.pcnextday.co.uk
The next is https://www.eclipecomputers.com and the 3rd being https://www.novatech.co.uk
Also try ebay because some of the prices on there are quite competitive. I have found that ddr2 memory is not so common as ddr memory, hence the problem with finding cheap memory. I hope this helps.
  • Hi
When you go to Crucial don't bother with Crucial Advisor Tool, go to the button just below, Scan my System, this will take you to another page and you just download a little program, once its downloaded, double click it and it will scan your pc then it will take you back to crucial and then you can see what memory it recommends etc.

    Hope this helps
