Citreon Berlingo Diesel Van

Does anyone know of a simple solution to gettingone of the above to start on cold days. After being left over night the vehicle is next to impossible to start.

I've tried turning the ignition on and off to heat up the coil.

Any ideas please?

Assuming the battery is turning over fast, the glow plugs are the next best bet, as mentioned.

It'll be £100 ish garage job, but easy enough to do, as DIY, just as long as they don't snap off, when you remove the old ones.

They can't easily be tested, yourself, they would need to be removed, first, so probably garage repair is best.

There is clearly something wrong. I've had a Berlingo Multispace for 4 years. It is the 1.9 Diesel, and is out in all weathers every night. It has never failed to start first time no matter how cold, or how long it has been left.
  • Thanks folks, it would appear to be the glow plugs.
