Wanted Second child - Help

Hi all
Me and my wife have been trying for the last year or so to have another child but with no success.
I have a 4 year old boy so thought it would be ideal now to have a second child.
Any ideas where can we go to get a checkup done?
Will a GP be of any help??
Both me and my wife work full time at a bank so not sure if the work stress is the reason.
Any help would be most appreciated....

Are you in the U.K? I would have thought your first port of call would be your GP's. How old are you and your wife btw as I have a vague feeling that both age and how long you've been trying are taken into account when referring you?

Hi I am a GP and I recommend you and your wife see your GP. We usually say that it can take up to a year to conceive naturally and if you have been trying for that long then you can be referred for fertillity assessment and help. Not wanting to give too much medical advice without knowing you, I would just recommend sensible measures like as little alcohol as possible and if either of you smoke to consider giving up.0
