Hardship & Halifax online statements queries

Hi - Good evening to all, I ask 2 questions regarding reclaiming bank charges.

I have finally decided to pull the plug on the Halifax after the years of abuse I have suffered.

Two quick questions which I am unable to find an up-to-date answer using the search function.

A - I have a final demand for £1064 from HSBC (renamed as MSC collection services) payable in about a week. My first question is; On my income of £13500 per annum can this be classed as hardship (I live with my parents, however they do not support me financially)? I also have recent (last 6 months) missed payments on the halifax account.

I am worried that this will not be sufficient, this letter is my only very recent evidence of hardship, however my situation is much worse. I owe several thousand on my girlfriends credit card, I have to pay cash in hand for living expenses and I also owe other people money - thus my financial situation is rather dire and I will stuggle to pay this MSC payment and continue to live...however the severity of my hardship seems less due to alot of my debt and expenses being payed in cash.

Also B (The question I could not find an answer too) - I have signed up for Halifax online banking yesterday, A) because I wanted online banking facilities and B) Because I assume you can view previous banking statements. My question is; Can you gain access to your previous 6 years banking statements online? I ask this because as it stands I am not inclined to pay Halifax £10 for 6 years of statements (I assume they charge that, they charge me for everything else!) if it's not neccessary, yet I will have to wait a week for my online password to come through the post to find out if I can view them online... if the answer is no it would be a week wasted.

Any advice you can give me on whether it is likely I will be accepted for harship and also advice on Halifax banking statements is greatly appreciated.

Sadly no to question 2. You can only receive your statements online from the time you first requested to recieve them online. So all you will see when you get your password will be the last 60 transactions on your account (if it is a current account), only recent transactions for credit card.

It would have to be a call for the statements, unless you just want to prove you have had charges on a current account, then branch members have the facility to provide basic statement information (amounts and notation) in regards to what has happened on your account for free.

    Hope this helps, good luck!
