PCN - Stopped to drop off passenger at bus stop
Comments
-
I have received a PCN from London Borough of Hounslow stating that i have contravened "(47) STOPPED ON A RESTRICTED BUS STOP OR STAND".
I just stopped at a bus stop to drop a friend, didnt wait. literally just stopped, he got out and i drove off. In the picture you can see my car steering right and my right signal on to confirm i am moving off.
I couldnt belive it and wondering if there is anything i can do, surely this must be allowed. Also note this is not a red line zone.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how i can appeal and what i can do.
Greatly Appreciated.
On watchdog, or Rip off Britain, last week or the week before there was a story along the same lines and it was all down to the signage. Not sure if it helps.KIND REGARDS

It might do, if the original thread, already pointlessly bumped, wasn't from 2009!

yes but on rip off britain over 8000 people had had fines at this one bus stop alone so it's clearly a a ongoing hot topic.0

Indeed, but on a parking forum it would be a topic for a new thread. We can't have a general discussion following on from someone's orginal post on this forum, it's can't work like that as the dates/details are always different. General discussion of a TV show is best in a new thread.
Appealing PCNs generally is always a hot topic and EVERYONE should appeal a Council PCN whatever the circumstances IMHO, all the way to adjudication (sadly only 1 or 2% do). Most people win at adjudication, most Councils get more wrong than your average driver does...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I started reading the first few posts before I realised they were from 2009!
