River Island - refused to refund on £ 40 jeans

I am not sure from reading the thread whether you had a receipt or not?
A lot of stores will accept a look at your bank statement to see that you bought the item within said time (if on card).0 -
i used to work at RI for a couple of years.
with regards to tag not being on, easily done, people try clothes on sometimes the tag does fall off, although a red kimble was attatched at the start, we always had just clear ones to re-attath things on, and it may of been a hand writtten tag that was re attatched.
The sticker inside, is quite large and it is quite tough to take off; it may be a case that it was not there in 1st place when delivered to store, or the jeans you have, have been previously returned (e.g. someone has tried them on, taken them back without tags etc and it has been allowed- this may be where the creases have come from). I imagine you have just got the store on a very bad day. Customer services will probs give you a refund. Just a tip really, i used to work alongside going to college and everything used to be alot more relaxed on a Sunday as the main manager was not in and returns would be made easily. So it does depend who you go to. The main manager at my store never ever worked sundays only monday-saturday.
Was there anything faulty with the jeans at all? cos this could have helped as a refund would of had to be given if there was, ( i know your daughter hadnt wore them); but if they had of been worn and developed a fault you would have got a refund.
Sorry ive went on a bit! I do not work there anymore now.... although i do miss the discount a lot!

Thanks to all of you who contributed to my original post. I am very pleased to say that the shop manager has called me this morning and confirmed that if I go in today they will give me a refund.0

That is quite a damning statement; do you have any proof of this? And any other store names who allegedly do this?0 -
