Sky dish moved in gale

Can anyone help with how I can go about re-aligning my Sky dish?
After the gales we had last weekend the dish shifted and we've lost our signal. There's Heineken Cup rugby on this weekend that we're desperate to watch.
Should add that we phoned Sky as we had HD installed less than a fortnight ago. Were due to have an engineer visit today sometime, but I spent more than 20 minutes on the phone after 9 am and I'd not had my phone call to give me an indication of when they would be with me..... Had it rescheduled for Monday, but that'll be another day off work (like I can take them off at a drop of a hat?!)
Any advice would be gratefully received. The dish is at head height on the side of the house, so we can reach it with arms outstretched.

You can get satellite metres from B&Q and Argos fairly easy to use apparently0

Thanks for that, but my nearest B&Q and Argos are both a 3 hour ferry ride and then an hour and a half in the car away
Guess I'll need to give it a shoogle?0 -
The dish should not have moved in a gale if it had have been installed correctly in the first place.
OK, it will only have moved side ways, so switch on your TV and Sky Receiver, go to menu and then find " Signal strength/quality ".
Now one person get on some steps while another watches the signal bars on the TV. loosen just slightly the retaining bolts on the dish and move the dish sideways very slightly until the bars move as high possible, ( do not get in front of dish as this will block signal ) tighten up fully.

I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

You can usually tell where it was by where the paint has removed on the brackets where the bolts go through. Just a matter of putting it back and tightening. Make sure there is no water ingress to the cabling too.
Whats the % for signal strength and quality on the Services-> signal test menu?
You can use these readings to adjust the dish with a little help from a friend, just down move things too quickly as there is a little lag.0 -
do you have any neighbours with a satellite dish? If you can you check the direction of theirs and then try copying it?0

I had to do this a few months back. do as inactive says but it probably wont need moving more than a cm to the left of right unless the bolts are loose and it has completly swung round0

Cheers everyone for your advice
DH had a bash last night and it was enough to activate Sky Sports again, so he was a happy bunny.
Waiting on the engineer to come and sort out the problem at some stage......0 -
Not sure if dish brackets have markings, but if they do worth taking a note of their position or marking where they sit should you ever need to adjust it again in a hurry.0
