I opened a Co-op account on the day of my BR. I opened mine a few months before BR - it was painless and got my pin number and card within 2 working days.

I can say (like others) how wonderful they are!!

Halifax closed my account from the London Gazette notice before OR made contact! Mine too! I went BR on a Friday and by Monday morning the letter came through the post from Halifax! They are soooo efficient!

I couldn't go with Barclays as they were one of my creditors as took over Woolwich! I've heard they are very forgiving and will give a BR an account even if they were a creditor.
Barclays were the worse ringing me daily before BR!!!! Me too - they phoned me every morning at 8:30. You gotta give them an A for effort. Day in and day out for nearly a year they phoned me and I never picked it up, I had over 200 missed calls from their number!

I do like my Coop account and have had no trouble with it but I may try and open a Barclays account for the connect card. I've heard that electron cards are being phased out however I did hear this some time ago and nothing has happened yet.
