I hope it worked, it didn't for me once. Noticed the dough hook after putting in the ingredients, tried to push the hook in and ended up with a horrible wet mess which didn't look anything like dough after mixing so wasted it and started again.
  • Yeah! It was fine and very tasty! :D

(I am always doing things like this - looks like I'm in good company!)

    Thanks for all your advice!

I once put all the ingredients in and with a knowing grin looked around to see the BM bowl on the drainer - EEEEKKK!!!! What a mess.

LOL, I've done this too and the worst things was I was teaching DD1's boyfriend how to make bread at the time :D Tipped the mixture out, shoved the paddle in and put the mixture back in. Ended up with a really lovely loaf :D

I've forgotten the number of times I've forgotten to put the paddle in! Sometimes I haven't realised until the I've come to get the finished loaf out only to find a horrible lump! So disappointing when you're expecting a lovely fresh loaf for lunch :(

On Sunday I put some dough on to make rolls...when i got the dough out to knead i thought it felt a bit flat...then remembered I hadn't put any yeast in! But my DH (always the optimist) suggested I flatten them out and bake them anyway - they turned out to be pitta breads! so glad i didn't bin the dough!

not much help but good to know there are other absent minded bread machine operators out there!
    weaving through the chaos...
