Bank Offer

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice. I recently tried to claim my bank charges under the Financial difficulties claim. I supplied the bank with my financial details etc. I was claiming over £1800.00 and this morning they have sent me a letter offering 224.00 for the period of Oct 08 to Jan 09 and asking me to sign an acceptance form. This doesn't even cover the amount I am over my overdraft currently and they still intend to continue putting charges on my account for being over my limit. Should I sign or are there other options?
Many thanks in advance.
