Egg, ppi reclaiming.

After a long 4 month battle tring to reclaim the PPI on my Egg Loan, I have finally got Egg to admit they were wrong and offer £250ish. The loan was passed to a collection agency years ago and is now paid off, however Egg now say that I can only have £40, as they 'held back' £200 of the original debt!!?? So why would they have held back £200 of the debt for over 7 years and not ever contact me about this? I am very confused and am seeking advice as to what to do next?

How much was the loan for? How much was the ppi? was it a single premium?
It sounds as though they are making a nominal derisory offer hoping you will go away.
I would now sarn them for statements and a copy of the agreement.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.
