Hi, I got this machine last year and am well impressed with it, I think I paid just over £500, am looking to get another one for my son but on the dell site they are coming up at around £585, does anyone know of any codes to get it cheaper????? When I got mine they were showing up more expensive on site but with a code from here I got it cheaper :j :T

There are codes on the site below for £100 off and free delivery although I have not used them and have no experience if these codes work or not

i got this machine for 498 with a decent spec about 4 months ago, decided to give dell a try as they had fair reviews on this and other forums... wasn't looking for anything as big as this but the offer was too good to refuse, usually if the machine you want isn't reduced enough it will only be a matter of time.
have you tried the outlet section?? i think they are all just returned custom stock and you can get some good deals.
someone directed me to a site.... https://www.outletbargins.co.uk was what i thought it was but i can't seem to find it so it may have gone, but it was a very helpfull forum, if a little too obsessed with ebay resale profits.0 -
Dell upgraded all their systems in late Nov/early December and I haven't seen the 6000 for anything remotely like 500 since. I assume they've upped the spec of the 6000 too..
The 1300 is not bad for something like £430 if you upgrade to the 15", upgrade the battery and buy your memory from Crucial (256Mb stick about £28)0 -
go to https://www.dell.co.uk/outlet - check the site regularly and at odd times as dell drop their surplus stock into it more or less hourly.
Also and machines i've bought off it have been brand new - presumably cancelled orders - so don't get too hung up on any thoughts of them being refurbished machines.0 -
I bougth one for £540 but only comes with 256MB RAM and 40GB harddrive. Its the Dell Inspiron 6000 1.7GHz one.0
