Tennant needing help with Landlord poor service...

Is that why you're not a LL anymore and are having to live in rented accomodation with dodgy heating?
You used the gas, you'll have to pay for it.
An engineer is coming to repair the heating. In the meantime, deal with it.
Premier - that's a nasty & unnecessary response to a newcomer posting a query on here. Not big, not clever.0 -

tbs624 - that's a nasty and unnecessary response to my post, but something I've come to expect from you! Are you big and clever?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Because I would have to pay for electric heaters for 5 rooms which would have cost just as much plus the electric bill would have gone up so would have been replacing one cost with another when the manage agency should have sorted the problem.
It's not a case of magically producing an engineer, the company is Tucker Gardner who employ engineers... my agent deemed the problem not important so actually didn't really treat as a concern and just did nothing.
This has cost me and I find it unfair... and they still are sitting on it saying they will get an engineer to me for next week... costing me aprox £10 per day to live in a house that is not far from freezing majority of rooms.
As a tenant the minimum you would expect is to be able to heat your house. But I am looking at £340 for no real benefit apart from not suffering from hyperthermia... but not far from it...
why 5 heaters? you said living room, hall & kitchen not working? I've not suggested you turn the gas heating off, just use it as you would normally, & suppliment with additional electric heating in the rooms where the rads aren't working, only whilst you are in them. Do you normally heat the upstairs 24/7?
Stop using the gas fire...this is what is eating your gas, you might as well burn fivers for the same cost & amount of heat it gives off.
ask the agency to provide you with a couple of electric heaters, & request a contribution towards the extra electricity bills in writing.0 -

That's what I have done and I am awaiting a response... so fingers crossed... Would be 5 for hall, kitchen 2 for front room, my sons bedroom, and then possibly family bathroom.
The problem I have if I turn off upstairs because they are thin pipe radiators they take a lot longer to heat up. and that would be same for downstairs although it sounds ludicrous it useless turning off as will cost just as much to heat back up then to keep hot...
I have turned all non used room radiators off... I know the gas fire costs lots to run but it is the only way to heat the front room.
Thanks for help and advice given so far... what I'm trying to tackle is now this happened is there anything legally I can do to try and recoup the money from landlord/managed agency???0 -

and now you:
Lets hope your current tenants don't suffer any other problems in the property you let to them ... or even fail to pay you rent.
You've not exactly mitigated the loss though have you? If it didn't provide any benefit, why did you leave the gas burning???
In response although I don't know why I am entertaining you with one as you don't seem to offer advice...
My current tenants... there is such a thing as insurance and break down cover...
The reason I left the gas burning is because I need to be warm... buying effective raditors would have probably offered the same effect... the gas fir provided well needed heat.
Honestly... do you not have anything better to be doing... I thought this website was a place to come for sound advice?0 -

I've already offered you advice in 3 posts in this thread alone (not to mention the other post to defend the nonsense the usual troublemaker posts in response to my posts)
With this post that makes 5 posts in total just for you - almost as many have you have made in total on this forum. I've not been on this site for over 3 years and made almost 4000 posts because i don't 'have anything better to do' , nor received over 2000 thanks for being "sarcastic" or "unhelpful"
As you are a complete newbie here, may I point out that if you expect help, I suggest you calm down and take the advice people have taken the trouble to offer, even if it doesn't immediately agree with your own thoughts.
Remember as per this forum's declared etiquette, "even if you disagree courtesy helps"
