Lloyds TSB No notification of account change

In October Lloyds changed my account from a Graduate Gold account to a Gold Account, and as a result have been charging me £12 a month for it, where as the graduate account was free (though was £5 a month when I first had it). I only found out about the change earlier in the month (Jan) when I called Lloyds about a £12 fee on my statement that I didn't know about. When they told me it was a fee for the gold account that my graduate gold account had been changed to I realised on my statement that it had been coming out every month from October. I informed them that I had recieved no notification of the change, and that I would not have opted for it had I been informed. They told me that they would refund the 1st months fee as a "gesture of goodwill", but that I was not entitled to a refund as my monthly statements were suficient notification of the change for subsequent months. To add insult they also charged me an overdraft excess fee of £21 as one of the account fees had taken me over my overdraft limit, and this they also refused to refund.
Now, I should inform you, as I did them, that I have been out of the country for most of 2008 and only checked my correspondence when I returned just before Chritmas, and found no notification from them. I should also add that my account is an online one and I don't recieve paper statements. I intend to send in a written complaint and try to claim back the charges.
If anybody can give me any advice on this matter it would be gladly recieved.
