Hi all,
I'm in need of suggestions once again. A short while ago I made the silly mistake of shutting down whilst half way thro sys restore!!! ( It may ring some bells as one or two of you offered assistance) Anyway to cut a long story short my PC was formatted & all progs I needed reinstalled.
My Broadband supplier is Wanadoo, & this works fine BUT the display on Internet Explorer, particularly with this site, is too large to fit the screen & the bottom slider has to be used constantly to see the right hand side.
Is there a simple solution or is this as it should be?
Thanks, TonyB:o

In Internet Explorer, View Text Size or Right Hand Click the Desktop, Properties,
Settings, Screen resolution and move the slider and then OK..
Slider settings will be upto you.0 -
Thanks intel.
I've been to text size & selected smallest. No real effect.
I've just rightclicked desktop/properties/settings & moved the slider to extreme right & it increased resolution & shrunk the desktop !!!! Is there a prescribed resolution other than mine which is 800*600?
Thanks, TonyB0 -
Well I will say that most are 1024x768 with 32bit colour quality.
Just wandering did the correct Display driver get installed..
If it was aRestore CD that Ghosted the PC then I would say yes, if it was just
of an XP CD you may not have the correct driver..
Just to check, Right click My Computer, properties, Hardware Tab, device Manager
and see if the display adapter has the correct driver..
Maybe something like sis650 or other driver maybe worth checking.0 -
So far so good, I've changed the resolution to your suggestion & all seems to be mended!!! although I shall have to alter one or two other settings or get a new pair of readers!!!
I did start to look into the driver as suggested & ended up with windows help & support which recommended restarting iN SAFE mODE, by pressing f8. This came up with options for rebooting, by floppy etc & no mention of safe mode. At this stage I backed off as I can easily do more harm than good!! Any suggestions here?
Anyway, thanks a lot for help so far

Just leave it alone as I expect the correct Display adapter Is present so I
wouldnt really worry about what Windows help and support says.
I think quit while your ahead is a good motto.. :beer:0 -
