I've had a quote for some work in my bathroom and just wanted a second opinion. Plumber acknowledges high price but trys to justify it. Is it a high price and what would be a more reasonable price?
I can't remember it we discuss the supply of the tiles, for that price/wording do you think he expects us to supply the wall/floor tiles or he is?
Is Bristan a decent make? Reliable? Value for Money? Or should we be using something else?
We live in Coastal Sussex if that helps at all
Many thanks on your thought

If the price includes the taps/showers then it is more than fair, if not its a little too much
Bristan is a fairly good product, mid ranged and well priced....aftersales is good toHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
If the price is all inclusive of all furniture, materials, VAT and labour I think its good value personally. If it is all inclusive, ask him to provide a full breakdown of the bill to see how much he's charging for labour.
You could always buy all the materials and fittings yourself and just get him or someone else to fit it..?If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
does price include bathroom suite?Nice to save.0

Just the bath & accessories, sink and toilet already in and don't need changing. Everything is supplied for this price but I'm not sure about the tiles, will need to check with plumber.0

Again, like some other posts I reckon its in the right 'ballpark'. Wht not ask him to include any tile cost in his quote;) . Cost for some decent tiles 10m2 approx, maybe £200-300.

Ive jsut had my large 2.5x2.5m bathroom done, all done by different tradsmen with me managing it.
Removal of old suite and tiles - Free - hammer and boulster.
Plumber to come and add move pipes to new locations (add in shower), then pop back to plumb in the new kit after tiles £500
Plaster to plaster walls £250
Tiler to tiles walls and floor £320 (inc all materials but not tiles)
Tiles £350)
I think the suite was just over 1k, new toilet/large sink/bath and massive shower tray with sliding doors and shower. Decent brand as well - from merchants
Only bad thing was it took about 2 months start to finnish with me doing the diy and arranging the professionals.
Guys quoting for the full job ranged from 5-8k!

My friend has just had a new bathroom suite fitted, approx 2m x 2m. They paid £700 to remove old suite, fit new one in exactly the same place, board out floor with marine ply, tile floor, remove existing tiles from the walls and retile, take bottom off door and re-hang to make allowance for floor tiles, remove and re-hang existing radiator. My friend supplied suite, taps, tiles for floor, tiles for walls, adhesive and grout for walls (purchased from B & Q in their half price sale and tiles were reduced too). The guy has done an absolutely fantastic job too!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year.
