Hello all im wanting help with my credit card intrest rate . last year i did a balance transfer to capital one and was paying off my bill. however i did the thing that Martin said you should never do yes you got it i spent on my credit card . I can only afford to pay the minaum on the card but i have noticed on my statement they are charging me £39.50 intrest alone on the £152 per month payment i make . Is there any thing i could do here to sort this, like move to another company. with a low intrest rate, the thing is i can only realy do the life of the ballance . not the 12 month or 16 month low intrest ones i owe £4,884 so not sure what best to do any help woul be good
thanks
paul

You're not going to reduce the rate you pay on the purchase you made (unless you ring up and they're feeling nice enough to reduce your rate!)
Best thing would be balance transfer to another card that has a good offer, but keep the card you have now to use for spending - cut up the card you've made the balance transfer to so you won't be tempted to spend on it!0 -
