Calling a mobile in Kenya...

I have a rather homesick friend in Kenya who has a mobile phone on her. What is the cheapest way of calling her from blighty? I have a BT line and have an fast internet connection so any use of either is available.

Is it a UK mobile roaming in Kenya or is at Kenyan mobile/SIM?
If it's the former, it'll cost you exactly the same to call as it would if it was still in the UK. However, it'll cost your friend big money to receive your calls.
If it's the latter, the cost to you will be about the same but will be much cheaper for your friend.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
