As i have previously stated, he was making the payments directly to his ex.
Update....
The ex is now being contacted by the CSA to see if she will accept a smaller payment, as it turns out the money is owed to her.0 -

I know this is a different matter but my husband has been contacted today to advise he is £3500 in arrears with maintanence. My question is can they make you pay even though you have not seen your child for years and not allowed.
Thanks0 -

Kelise, there is no link in law between contact and maintenance due - so in answer to your question yes they can make somebody pay who has no contact. What is the reason for no contact?0

Except of course that there is, a clear link, as well you know. The more overnight contact, the less maintenance. So what do vindictive PWCs do? Of course, withhold contact.
Of course we don't know the reason for the denial of contact in this case but I really couldn't let that comment pass without a rejoinder, now could I?Information is not knowledge.

It would also depend on whether or not the parents were married AND if the child were born before some law to do with legal parental responsibilty was changed, (will try and find dates etc), just trying to regurgitate what I have read personally recently.
Example; My OH was NOT married to the mother of his children and they were born before the change of law, yet, even though he is legally named and recognised as the father of the children he has no rights with regards to their upbringing except to pay for it, which he has no objection to doing.
If he had been married to the mother WHEN the child(ren) were born and/or if they had been born after the said date then he would be allowed to walk into any court in the land and demand shared custody (with the childs acceptance of course), such as he was able to do with his youngest son."And crawling on the planet's face,
