Hi all wonder if anyone can help?
I'm moving into a house with 4 friends shortly and we need contents insurance. All i've found so far is Endsleigh who quoted £450 including AD which seems very over the top.
Ran it through Confused.com who have an option to select i'd like cover 'for all tenants in a shared house' and gave me some good results - problem been none of them would actually cover us when I rang them. What a joke confused.com is
HELP!!!!

You need to speak to a broker, preferably a specialist like Endsleigh or Harrison Beaumont. There are companies who will offer a policy for the entire house with all of the tenants as joint policyholders so you can share the premium between all the tenants. This is the best way of covering the property as then there is one company covering the whole home so if there is a claim there will not be items that for instance you have jointly bought that won't be covered.
Norwich Union offer a Home Plus Policies through brokers where they allow up to three policy holders although I have known them allow up to 5.0
