I'll repeat my earlier statement that "I'm extremely thankful to the people who spoke out on internet forums and blogs that enlightened me and I make no apologies whatsoever for being a vocal 'doom monger' on MSE for the last 15 months or so." and amend the 'last 15 months or so' to 'the last 17 months or so' in order to correlate that to my join date - just in case that rattles any obsessive weirdos cage.

good edit - who's hurling personal insults now :rotfl:

instead of turning on the huge fonts , throwing personal insults and obsessively dragging the subject across to pollute other threads you might realise that.

double standards or hypocrytical - take your pick :)

They look fairly forced to me?

You are found to be lying !!!!!!. Stop trying to victimise yourself again.

As for the bold bit thats your trademark.:rotfl:

    What did you say earlier

No not trying to be personal are you !!!!!! (By the way no I am not:))

Here's what I said in my very first post on the matter (it's in another thread but you dragged discussion into this one):

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=17954093&postcount=33
If your circumstances dictate that you want/need to sell up and move and you have equity in your house (which most people who bought 2005 or earlier will have currently) then there's absolutely no reason why you would withdraw from the market.
I'm glad that you've now come round to my way of thinking but why oh why did you need to go off on one?

Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

But I have not come round to "your way of thinking" you just did not understand what i was saying (you thought I was talking the market up, thats why I went off on one. I had three people compleatly not understand what I was saying and trying to put words in my mouth)

Forced sales will be the driving force for sales over the next year.
If people have not sold now and only want to lock in HPI its tuff it is to late.
If people need to move for work etc. its an unfortunate time to sell now.

Most will have to sit tight and ride the storm now.

I think !!!!!! is trying to say that if we "nutters" managed to save one or two people from this sort of fate, then the forum has been well worth while:

Just found this board, thought id let you know what has happened to me due to northern rock
    1) Mortgage deal ended. they refused to re-do. mortgage nearly doubled to £1600 a month.
2)house was valued at 400k we put up for sale at 360k but no interest
3)struggling to live we kept reducing price to 300k (mortgage was 290k at that point)
4)we had to cut our payments as a choice between food and payments
    5)had a offer for 265k
6)northern rock refused to let us sell. we now owe them £310k with interest
    7)they repossessed the house
8)they have the house for sale at 194k (valued at 410k in 2006) 4 bed with swimming pool.
9)found out they would chase us for the shortfall for up to 12 years. owe 116k and nothing to show for it???
    10)just gone BR :-(

Though you will note it is still all the fault of NR.

I love this quote, how can you prove that you have saved 70k?

Have you just taken the average of 19% drops that we have seen from peak and worked that into your figures:rotfl:

What if your area has only fallen by 5%, and the street that you were interested in buying in hasn't moved an inch? How will you have saved bearing in mind to take your rental into consideration?

I think some people get far too carried away with it all;)

YOU FOOL ... THE SPECIFIC HOUSE HAS GONE FROM 279K TO 229K AND INTEREST EARNED FROM BANK =70K...I KNOW WHAT HOUSE I WANT AND SO FAR I HAVE SAVED MYSELF 70K :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

oh i agree that it is the purpose of the forum - it's the self-agrandising performance of "you didn't listen to me, i've been telling you for years and years" part that is amusing.

you've just summed it up perfectly.
