Right, i have been back to the place i got the ticket and taken a few piccies. At the other end of the road there is a blue sign, showing a car with 2 wheels on the kerb, but i couldn't get a picture because there was a lorry parked RIGHT in the way. Anyway, where we parked there was a sign, just before we parked, which i assume is the end of kerbside parking, but is is so faded, it is actually blank!

do we have a case that we had no idea the "rules" changed at that point?
Ok, ok, i need to go back onto Weightwatchers, lost 7 stone..... 2 back on, this has to change.....Help!!!

Open an a/c on Photobucket, (here: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket ),or Tinypic here: (TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting )

Click the "upload image" box and browse to find the file of your scanned jpeg on your hard disk

It will then upload the image to Photobucket and it will show you thumbnails of the images you have uploaded. Under each image there are links that you can copy and paste.

Copy and paste the IMG Code link from Photobucket to the reply box on your thread here, which will look like this:

[/img]

When you submit the reply, the text will change into the image you uploaded onto Photobucket.

*Thank you very much orford for your nice clear instructions*

We were parked where this car was today, underneath is the start of a yellow line. - you can see the blank pole.

And here is a close - up of the state of the sign

We live in Gwent and have had a problem with a driver of a white van persistently parking two wheels on the road and two on a grass verge, running alongside the pavement. This in wet weather churns the grass into deep ruts. Which in turn is unsightly, and cannot be cut by the council. We have spoken to police, council and highways maintenance. Apparently there's no problem providing the vehicle is taxed. To cap it all he then parked his untaxed car completely on grass verge with two wheels on pavement [partially blocking it} again fine by the relevant authorities! Is it one rule for one county and different in another. I think your lot are being very unfair, you could of got the proverbial barge through on the pavement and as you {and I} are disabled people do not realise that help for five mins to get to where we want, when in pain is invaluable. Keep on at them, GOOD LUCK.

Unfortunately, the rules in London are different from everywhere else.

However, now that the OP has posted photos, there may be something else to have a go at.

Oh! Well that seems perfectly clear to me - phrwwwwww!!

what a joke! Now we're getting somewhere!

Clearly invalid. Slight problem. As I said, the restriction is blanket - london-wide. The sign indicates an exemption not a restriction - so this means you would have to argue that you were misled by the other cars parked partly off carriageway and did not see the sign that indicated where the exemption began - does that make sense?

It appears to be the exemption sign because I can just make out the arrow. I think it indicates the start of 'permitted' then.

The one at the other end (got a pic?) would have had a red line through the car? Yes?
That must help cos as the one showing the restriction restarts (and exemption ends) is some distance away you can't know.

i'll get Bogsdollocks to have a look cos he is quite keen with signs - better than me!

thanks so much it's all getting a bit confusing now, and the appeal needs to be sent by the 29th jan.
i got pics of all the cars parked 1/2 on/off the kerb today showing no clear definition between behaviour.

If you are under pressure through timescales - might I point out that you didn't first post until 22/1.

What I need is a pic of the sign at the other end to confirm the situation.

What deadline is 29/1/09 by the way? discount amount or last chance or what?
