Been a long time since this thread started. Wonder how much the OP sold the little girl for?

Wouldn't that be just as legal or moral as the original question?

Of course, what we should all do is listen to the OP because they must know something a lot of others dont. Otherwise why would so many people have their homes repossessed? Maybe it's because they didn't steal from their children. Or maybe they planned to pay off their mortgage but things changed? Couldn't possibly happen to the OP, so their girl, who any normal parent would love and care for, wouldn't lose all her money?

Or maybe the OP used the "expenses" (or maybe this thread is where all those thieving MPs got the idea from) to find the little girl a family who give a s**t about her? Because exactly as those low-life MPs did, they STILL tried to justify themselves even when almost the whole of the human race told them they were wrong, wrong, so wrong

If I had an inkling who the OP was, they wouldn't be capable of forming the original question........:mad:

I haven't read the whole thread but has anyone stopped to consider the position this person might be in?

The thought of charging rent is ridiculous, but a loan which would save the family home and keep a roof over the childs head is a different matter isn't it?

I think the wording used was way off the mark here... This is the childs money, end of. BUT if this avoids losing the house, being made homeless, bankruptcy etc... then that is another story.

Sadly I suspect the money is long sonce spent as this thread is about 20 months old now but thisis my thoughts on the issue...

No to rent, yes to saving the home if push comes to shove.

Tbh if the OP had phrased it even remotely that way in the opening post then he might have got some sympathy from people for his situation.

But the fact he is trying to pass it off as 'expenses' or 'rent' totally throws any sympathy out of the equation.

Also the fact that he was thinking of taking the money as 'rent' gave the impression that he had no intention of ever paying the money back

  • Hi Louise,

    My thoughts exactly...

In all honesty I dod suspect the thiking behind the post was 'I'm in debt, whats the fastest, easiest way to get out of it?' which sadly seems to be the notion of charging the child rent and board...

I do have one question though, I'm reasonably new to this site still... Whats a Troll?

    Thanks
  • Hi Monkeyballs, and welcome.

A troll is someone who creates a ficticious scenario, normallly outrageous, posts it on here, and stands back to enjoy the right minded (and also the mentalists) all have a really good bunfight.

They do occasionally pop back to stoke the flames, but it seems to me to be a sort of online voyeurism.

Also, they tend to post intentionally nasty and hurtful things on other peoples threads. If you find them, you can choose to rise to the bait, but it may get nasty. I tend to steer well clear myself.

Stay troll free, stay happy I say!
  • Aaaahhh... I seeeee...

    Thanks Nikki.

Thats a bit weird... I get why people might find it entertaining but I don't like the idea of people posting nasty or hurtful things on peoples posts, there's a time and a place and generally speaking... This site isn't it.

    Cheers again.
  • Thanks for your replies. I suppose it was the legally position i was after which can often be different to what is morally right.

I would say its both, its illegal to take money that is not yours & this money is your innocent 6 years olds!! Not money for you to use for her living costs but money for HER to have when she is an adult.

I was thinking can we use this money to pay off the mortgage on the house. It does seem strange to be paying loan interest on one hand and recieving less on savings in the other. And our daughter obviously lives in the hose.

If £10k will PAY OFF your mortgae then what are you worrying about, continue to pay YOUR debt, its YOUR responsibility not hers!!

The was the reason for adking is it legall to borrow the money from our daughter to pay off the mortgage. it would make financial sense it wanlt a joke.

Alternarivel if loans were not legal could we charge the daughter rent to allow us to acquire the monety this way to pay off the mortgage.

RENT!! A 6 year old, do you have a conscience? If your that hard up I suggest you sell your home, use that to pay your mortgage off & move into rented accomodation. Or council accomodation if things are that bad! If things arent that bad & its just a case of it would be 'nice' to pay our mortgage off as it makes sense, then im afraid welcome to the real world. If these relatives wanted to see that happen for you then they would have left the money to you not your daughter.

I would still want to do the right thing morally so would be happy for us and the daughter to discuss the issue when she is old enogh and make sure all sides are happy with the arragement and if not put it back to how it would have been.

The thing morrally would be to have someone who can be trusted with another persons money be a trustee and not yourselves. You are a disgrace to parents & I honestly cant believe you would even think for one second that there is a way to make stealing your childs moneys legal!!
