Buying the house on hill... Buying a terraced house on a steep hill.

Hello there,
We are thinking of buying a terraced house on a steep hill.
Is there anything in particular we should look out for, or be aware of, when we go to look at it again?
Are there any particular searches that you'd recommend doing that might pull up warning signs or issues on this property?
I found this 'Geo-report' search at British Geological Surveys - http://www.bgs.ac.uk/Georeports/
which looks quite useful. Does anyone have any experiences, views or knowledge about the practical usefullness of this?
Thanks!

It's going to sound daft but the only thing which would concern me about a house on a steep hill would be access when it's icy. If your in an area which gets heavy snow I would think twice.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

...and make sure you have a car with a good handbrake!0

We live on a very steep hill and, as black-saturn said - the only problem is access when it's icy or snowy. We've had no problems (other than the usual when buying an old terrace house) with ours. Although, we did get a full structural survey done before we bought the place (everything was fine).

As with any terraced house, you need to be aware of how much privacy you'll actually have.
Is you garden completely overlooked? Our old neighbours used to be quite nosey.
What about parking, do you have a garage? or are you going to have to shimmy around for a parking space along with everyone else? Also, noise levels can also be a problem in terraces or flats. We also had a problem with mice which came into the house from next door
With regards to the hill, are you going to have to walk up it every day?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

agree with everything said so far, also need to be aware of house moving/settling (surveyors job though, that)
and with parking, you can always face parking down hill to make moving off easierknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Houses on a hill are more likely to suffer subsidence.0
