Sorry guys didnt realise this would cause such a stir!!!

Barclays Manager can you please advise where in the credit act states about staff loans

I think that may be the point. Staff loans are not part of the consumer credit act.

If you got a preferential rate then that is treat as a benefit in kind.

I am not sure if it would not fall under the CCA, never dealt with that myself.

    Anyon else know for sure?
  • So how is the person who took the loan out protected???? Its surely got to be in there somewhere, staff or not
  • But as now im not staff i am now paying a stupid amount of interest

Did it state that if you left the company the rate would go up?

Also i agree that this is a financial transaction so MUST fall under some level of consumer protection.

Please conslut the CAB first, they are free and independent. These companies are not better than the companies that sold the PPI in the first instance.

"The cost of our Solicitors conducting a detailed Evaluation and Audit of your Credit Agreements is as follows:
    £295 for your Agreement"

Arrange a meeting with cab before you do anything, its really for the best
  • Thanks very much for your help
