  • It appears James is indeed the retard! Not only does he have very little knowledge of the product,he also has little knowledge of grammar and spelling!!

Uggs are expensive, but genuine uggs will last for years and won't let you down, but make sure you treat them with a scotchguard or similar.

Welcome to MSE, I'm only sorry your first experience had to be so delightful!;)

Can I please ask people not to use the word "retard" in such a derogatory manner.

I believe it breaks the T&Cs of this website as I have reported its use in the past and posts have been removed.

I appreciate you did not originally use it in this thread but the word "stupid" would have sufficed and not been offensive.

    Thanks.

I rather think youv'e missed the point here Charlie, the word "stupid",had not been previously mentioned, and would have made less sense, said in the tongue in cheek way the reply is worded!
I can appreciate your comments, but I think you should be policing those who were offensive in the first place don't you!!

I'm sure you'll see that we are only trying to welcome someone, police those who need it!!!;)
  • I didn't see any of what went on here before as those posts have been removed.

All I want to add is, I have bought 2 pairs of Uggs from ASOS in the last 3 months and both were genuine. In addition, as others have said, we have a very friendly Ugg discussion thread going in the Grabbit forum.

Shudoo, Office and Schuh also sell genuine Uggs and we do come accross discount codes for all these sites from time to time. I don't think there are any working a the moment though.

Oh I haven't missed the point. I reported Jamie's post and it along with all other posts which quoted it were removed, which I think proves my point as opposed to missing anything.

I haven't reported your post because I appreciate you were merely trying to show Jamie up, but I still think its unacceptable for anyone to use the word in that context.

My daughter is autistic and is both a slow developer and a slow learner. I take offence at her or anyone else being called "a retard".

Walk in my shoes and you may understand why I feel this way.
  • My boots arrived from asos today and they look genuine to me. Thye are brilliant and the service from asos was fantastic too. Thanks for all the reassurance. xx

To OP - dont worry. As said already ASOS is a big company and they would not risk selling fake uggs.

I nearly bought some from this site (hope its ok to post) :

75 pounds were 125. And please ignore jamespir's comment. It was totally rude and not needed.

    And welcome to MSE :D

Hi, I checked out the boots u bought. They arent the genuine Deckers Ugg's. U can tell this because the genuine ones have a larger G in the middle of the word UGG.

  • I have ordered Uggs from ASOS and they are exactly the same that I bought from shudoo, I think you can tell when Ugg Australia are fake from ones I have seen have gone all sloppy, I have actually just received a pair of pink ugg boots which my Dad bought in Sydney by Shearers which are actual Australian Uggs as although they are called Ugg Australia, they aren't made in australia and so australians who are very proud for goods made by there country aren't actually that fussed over Ugg Australia, as they aren't Australian anymore.....but my Shearers are lovely a baby pink!! butI can't wear them out at the mo!!

    Sorry

I do not normally get involved in online spats but I just cannot believe what jamespir is writing. Not only is he factually incorrect on just about everything he has written but it sounds like he has sour grapes for some reason? Maybe his girlfriend cannot afford the real thing? Anything with an ounce of common sense knows that cheap boots like this are a false economy and as well as being flimsy and cheap looking, they get that strange saggy bit where you end up walking on the side if that makes sense!

I personally prefer and buy EMU boots, but that is my preference. They are cheaper than UGG but I think better quality but that is my opinion and if you want UGGs that is your right. Everyone is different.

I would not worry about ASOS, I would quite happily order branded stuff from there, they will not be fake. If you asked UGG, maybe they have them listed as As Seen On Screen or another trading name and do not recognise the name ASOS because of that? Anyway, do not worry yourself.
