Anyone open a current account with A&L?

Morning all, I opened a currnet account on line with A&L at the beginning of last week, got an email with instant decision to say application was successful and they would be setting up my account, but I haven't heard anything since........ has anyone else had this, does anyone know how long it ususally takes? I thought I would of have some paperwork or a letter through the post or something but haven't had anything?
Maybe Im being impatient but I want to get on and move everything across.......

Thanks in advance for your help. xx

    Hi kezzae,

I opened an A&L account at the end of September 08. I can't remember how long it was between getting the 'approved' email and the first bit of paperwork - but I do recall that it took a while, at least 2/3 weeks. I actually phoned them up to query where everything was at one point!

So I wouldn't worry about it. They do seem to take a while to get all the account info, cards, etc to you but I received everything in the end. (Although the whole process probably took about 6 weeks!)

    Take care :cheesy:

    Hi Alizarin

Thanxs for putting my mind at rest, I was worried about mail being intercepted in the post or I'd applied through a fraud site lol.
How are they in general as a bank, Ive been with barclays for over 15 years so dont really have any knowledge of other banks.

It took them 2 weeks to send all the information for my curr. acc in August, and once i'd sent it back (for security etc) it took another 2 weeks for the card and cheque books to come through. It will come though! They just take a bit of time!

A lot of ppl complain about A&L on here, i really like them though. Been with the bank for just over 6 months and they've been really good. Only problem i had was with the overdraft, but thats now been sorted.

  • there probably too busy with lewis hamilton visiting them.
  • From welcome email to having everything took me about three weeks. The card took a silly amount of time to arrive, something like two weeks.

Opened an a/c just before Christmas. Had my account details and PIN within 7 days and my debit card within 14 (but it was over Christmas). Can't fault them so far
