Help!!
I have a 500+ page document that uses numbered headings, sub-headings, transcript extracts and some tables.
Is there a way that i can format all of that to a style template so that I don't have to space/format manually? especially the transcript extracts - when I try and move stuff they go crazy on me.
Does my question make sense?

Is this a Word document?
If so, then you need to use Styles. You then specify the formatting for each style.
First off, decide on the structure of the document. If all main headings are to be numbered, then use Heading 1 for that. Format that style so that it's numbered. You then need to go through the document and apply Heading 1 to every instance of the main heading. Repeat for all other styles.
Styles are wonderful as they do exactly what you want - they apply consistent formatting to each paragraph that carries the main style.
For more information try this from Microsoft. Plenty more resources if you put using styles Word into Google to get these results
