I've posted previously to warn that whilst these little greenhouses can be very useful, they are also vulnerable to being blown over by the wind unless anchored to a wall or shed, but wanted to warn you about another feature. Many garden centres and other places are now selling these inexpensive four shelved models and on first glance they all look pretty identical. However, look closely at the shelves. The good ones will have each shelf (which is a metal wire rack) divided into two so that either the left half or right half can be removed if necessary to provide extra height for seedlings & plants growing on the shelf below. This is important if you want to grow tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, chillis or other plants which over time will grow quite tall. Having half a shelf which can be removed which give a lot more flexibility in the way you can use your little greenhouse and you will curse if this facility is not available.

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

I anchor mine down with a paving slab on the bottom shelf.

Mine has the full shelves... I haven't seen the ones with half shelves.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!
  • Mine is usually anchored down with cats in the summer.....
  • I had two ,both were against a wall, one was in what appeared to be a sheltered position ,nailed to the decking and it still blew over ,scattering seedlings and wrecking both greenhouses

Anyone know a cheap place to buy a mini greenhouse....?
  • Mine was Aldi who from time to time have them on offer.
  • Mine was from Aldi too, I bet they'll be having a gardening special soon. Along with the greenhouses they usually have packet seeds, fruit bushes and tools etc. I hold my greenhouse down with a few bricks and attach the top to a fence with some string.

Morph - You can get various types here: http://www.chaselink.co.uk/HTML%20files/Chase%20Garden%20Products/cgp-minigreenhouses.html and probably other online providers. They're usually on sale at places like B & Q, Homebase, Wyvegale Garden Centres, and other garden centre outlets. Mine cost £15 on a special offer deal two years ago but I've recently seen them still being sold for around the same price. If you buy one and intend to leave it out all year round, you might want to buy a spare plastic cover as they do tend to harden and crack with prolonged exposure to frost.

Thank you Primrose about the plastic cracking in the frost. That's what's happened to the door piece on mine, it is now useless, my own fault though.

    Bought mine from here http://www.selections.com/GF5406/5-tier-growhouse-with-heavy-duty-cover/
5 shelves and all are split into two, the cover looks solid enough and shouldnt split in the frost like my old one did
