Should I be changing
Last year we capped with Eon until Oct 2009, is this still the most sensible tariff to be on, or should we be thinking of changing again. From the news this morning it sounds as if prices are going to be coming down soon, so think I should wait a bit. What do you think?? TIA

Why not wait for the light to go green?

Winter time, with very high monthly useage, is no time to wait for silly lights to go green. Although you should not be choosing a fixed or exit penalty tariff, there is nothing stopping you choosing a new supplier if it will be cheaper. A 10% saving off two winter months' bill plus £30 to £87.50 cashback is better value than hanging around for everyone to change their prices.
There is no guarantee who you change to will not be lowering their prices in just as timely a fashion. And it only takes five to seven weeks to change again, anyway, if they are laggardly or more expensive once this round of changes is complete.0 -
I would stay put
Do you know what version you are on?
bearing in mind you will more than likely have missed the last price increase of 35% therefore your rates will still be significantly lower on the tariff you are on, than any 10% drop in current rates.0 -
Why not switch to Scottish Power's cheapest tariff and trouser £72 cashback (with topcashback but others are offering £62) whilst the energy companies make up their mind on how much they are decreasing their tariffs by? It's still £72 you wouldn't have had if you stayed put and there's absolutely nothing stopping you switching away again once the money has been paid. The lights system has no bearing on my dealings with these companies, as I switch up to 4 times per year. With cashback it's always a good time to switch...Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
best thing to do is write down your current unit rates, then get the lowest possible unit rates other companies can offer you. I think you will find that you have a really good deal. I am on the same tariff with EON and I struggled to find anything to beat it now the prices have gone up.
Its always best to do your own calculations if you can, as opposed to trusting quotes based on your dd.
Its is the only way you will get true figures.0
