Thursday 22/1/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move money to savings
  • Make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupbpard meals
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
  • sparkle - or at least try to-- only about a 10 watt sparkle today:o
Good morning dfw's, the dreaded lurgy has got a firm grip overnight, if I wasn't hosting a tenant forum at my court today I would be still in bed now:o somehow I have to get through it all and do lunches for about 40 people before I collapse in a heap this afternoon, will have to draft OH in to help I think.

Have a good day everyone, catch you later:D

Reduce,re-use, recycle.

    Morning guys,

Sophiesmum- I hope you feel better soon

OMG I have been given a creditcard! last time I had one of those was about 5 years ago wen the lady at CAB cut it up!
Plan is to only use it where I cant use cash e.g. to pay exam fees/tickets to go se my family etc...
As I'm fed up with having to ask my friends all the time. The APR is 34.9%
So plan to use it only wen I have the cash avaliable.

    Today I have/will:
    *check online bankng done
    *update spreadsheet done
    *update signature done-£25 less debt!
*use winter fuel payment to buy a halogen heater my sister has one I can have-will pick it up in 3 weeks when I go to stay :j
*go food shopping-friend coming for dinner on sunday so need some bits done but forgot tomatoes!
*sort out DS room will have to do this tommorow
    *store cupboard meals done

will add more wen I think of it

    Morning All:hello:

Lily81, credit cards aren't bad, but a useful tool if used properly.
(not like I used to.........) so well done on being credit worthy ;)

Fayjmk - I hate to say this, but sort lodgers room has been appearing daily.....:naughty: (please don't mention my lack of e-bay listing :o )

Hope today isn't too tough SM ;)

    So today I have/will:

    • look for mystery shop assignments.
    • up-date my spreadsheets & do on-line banking now that I know my payrise :D
  • Olive - oh no you spotted - got the furniture done at the weekend - slowly doing other bits - she arrives on saturday (afternoon). Thinking my drip drip approach will work better than all out panic! (I will be paniced tomorrow!!)

    Still to do:
Build wardrobe once [strike]exchange screws in shop and meet with pal who will give me directions as to what it USE to look like[/strike]
    [STRIKE]Iron cover for said wardrobe
    Stop moving furniture around!!!!![/STRIKE]
    Put up a blind
Clean the other manky venetian blinds
    Clean the cupboards
Wax the furniture once cleaned - maybe varnish table its just plain wood?
[STRIKE]Clean, move and install the fridge freezer once our new one arrives tonight.[/STRIKE]
Give the whole place a thorough clean (might ask cleaner lady to do this tomorrow)
Take down picies that are in there
Hoover - Can't hoover til I exchange the old one for a new one.
Get some tourist info stuff for her as she's new to Orkney.
Get some new flowers as the other ones are a going to soon be a bit manky.

There you are so now I need to cross things off to make sure I do it all. Now I am motivated
