I've got a 'no satellite dishes' and 'no washing lines'.

Breached, breached! They probably are enforceable, but how much so would depend on the person that the covenant is with.

  • Hi
On my freehold house, there are restrictive covenants on building an extension - requires approval from the mgmt company of the estate (40 years old) and there are certain restrictions in terms of height etc.
As they are slow to respond, I am going ahead anyway, but what is the worst that can happen? Council is fine, so could I land myself in trouble? Has anyone got similar experiences?
    Thanks

We had a restrictive coventant on our new house many years ago in that the colour of the front door must stay the same... everyone ignored it and nothing happended!
  • The majority of covenants are never enforced but they could be.

I am with the neighbour about the bootsale.

With regard to chickens, don't get a cockerel if you don't want to annoy the neighbours.
