An excellent summary of the situation.

You missed the bit about Google Checkout banning him in April 2008, because he had had too many complaints, and he owed them over £3000 though.

    http://groups.google.com/group/google-checkout-uk/browse_thread/thread/7f475e492e422318?pli=1

Also, the latest catastrophe to befall poor Gazza is that some scammers, possibly the Nigerians again, set up an identical site to his original one at the new URL of www.impulsetechuk.com. They copied his original site right down to the fact you could still log in with the same customer details, and the domain was falsely registered in his name - all this to steal his customers and discredit his good name - they're pretty smart those Nigerians.

Luckily [Name removed by Forum Team] was alerted to this pretty quickly and so he immediately got the domain registrar, 1&1, to take down the site, which was not actually hosted by them, but with coincidentally, DK Hosting (same as www.gcspcs.co.uk). They did this in minutes - they're damn efficient at 1&1, I'll say that for them, although they've not yet corrected the false registration details.

Magic, you really are on the ball!

I have now added the £3,000 Google costs to the running total and estimate that GCPCs' overall losses are absolutely deformatory.

That is, they are sufficient to flatten any limited company.

Thanks also for the heads-up about 1&1 for moving so quickly to take down a site they weren't even hosting.

This is so significant a step forward in the fight against worldwide Internet crime that I'm amazed no-one has thought of asking 1&1 to help before.

If [Name removed by Forum Team] can continue to provide such valuable information, the world will be a better place.

    Apologies to magic8ball,

Someone else has now told me I am still under estimating the true scale of losses at GCPCs.

Apparently a Sony Vaio laptop computer has just been given to GCPCs customer Serena Thompson from Newcastle (upon Tyne or under Lyne isn’t clear.)

The approximate wholesale price of this laptop is around £350. So that is yet more money that has had to be spent by GCPCs.

I think there would have been a news conference of [Name removed by Forum Team] presenting Serena with her prize but perhaps [Name removed by Forum Team] has been too busy to organise this.

If and when it happens though Serena will hopefully provide a better comment than that made by Mr Garry Adamson, Director of Commercial Services, Southend United.

According to the local newspaper, Mr Adamson recently praised [Name removed by Forum Team] like this:

When you do business with [Name removed by Forum Team] , the first thing you need to do is suspend disbelief.”

Too ambiguous by half, that is.

    That's a bit of a giveaway.

I love this thread, can't wait to see them get sent down for this.
The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha

Me too.. I would also like to thank everyone for their help and input with this problem.
I didn't think starting a few forum posts would ever generate such a huge attraction, I just wanted to warn people not to get into the same sticky frustrating situation that I unfortunately got in.
I was never aware that there were so many other people in similar (and much worse) situations with the company, let alone all the other flaws and issues others have pointed out.
It will be very interesting to see how this all turns out.

Hi Gaz, good to hear from you again!

What subjects are all these GCSE's in?

More importantly, are you going to bring the website back online again any time soon? Downtime is lost profit!

It was such a shame someone had to go to the trouble of registering a domain name and copy your web site and its marvellous but illegal terms and conditions just to blacken your already tarnished but now famous web site

I can hear BBC watchdog coming now to give you yet more publicity :)

EDIT Oh dear he has gone :(
